Inside Our Bra Factory In China: Quality You Can Trust

Bra factory building in Guangdong, China, used by Yiwu Bras Wholesale

Most suppliers describe their bra factory in China with the same three sentences: modern equipment, strict quality control, fast delivery. Those words mean nothing without specifics. So this article walks through our actual production floor, stage by stage, and explains what each step means for the buyers who order from us.

Our factory is located in Puning, Jieyang, Guangdong Province, one of China’s main lingerie production clusters. The facility covers 5,000 m², employs more than 200 workers and produces around 100,000 pieces per month for wholesalers, retailers and private-label brands in over 50 countries.

Where Our Factory Is

Puning is not a generic garment town. It has specialized in underwear and lingerie for decades, which means the local supply chain includes lace suppliers, fabric dyeing, foam cup moulding, elastic webbing, underwire production and packaging printers within a short drive. That proximity is why a style can move from sample approval to bulk production in weeks rather than months.

Buyers who cannot visit in person can request a live video tour. We walk through the cutting room, sewing lines, inspection area and packing department on camera, and answer questions in real time.

Step 1: Design And Sampling

Every order starts before production, in the sample room. Our team works from customer sketches, tech packs, reference samples or plain descriptions. For OEM orders, the buyer provides the design and we build the pattern. For ODM orders, our design team proposes styles from our own development range, and the buyer customizes colour, fabric and branding.

Sample making usually takes 7 to 10 days. Each sample includes a measurement report so the buyer can check cup height, underband length, strap width and other critical dimensions before approving bulk production.

Step 2: Material Sourcing And Fabric Inspection

Fabric is where most quality problems begin, so it is inspected before it enters production. Rolls are checked for shade consistency, width, stretch recovery and visible defects. Lace is checked for pattern alignment and holes. Foam is checked for density and surface damage.

For custom colours, we work from Pantone references and produce a lab dip for approval. This avoids the classic problem of receiving a bulk order in a shade that looked different on a screen.

Step 3: Cutting

Bra cutting is not simply following a pattern. Fabric direction, stretch percentage and lace pattern placement all affect how the finished bra fits and looks. Our cutting room uses automatic cutting equipment for larger runs and manual cutting for delicate lace or small orders, so pattern placement stays controlled.

Cut pieces are bundled by size and colour, with labels that follow them through sewing. This is how we prevent size mixing, one of the most common defects in low-cost production.

Step 4: Sewing And Assembly

A single bra can pass through 30 or more operations. Our sewing floor is organized in lines, with each operator responsible for one operation: cup seaming, underband attachment, strap joining, hook-and-eye stitching, edge finishing and trimming.

Experienced operators matter more in lingerie than in almost any other garment category. A cup seam that is 2 mm off can change the shape of the bra on the body. New operators are trained on stock styles before they touch custom orders, and each line has a supervisor who checks work in progress.

Step 5: Quality Inspection

Inspection happens at four points, not one:

  • Fabric inspection before cutting
  • In-line inspection during sewing
  • Final inspection on every finished piece
  • Packing inspection for labels, polybags and carton contents

Final inspection checks cup symmetry, seam strength, underwire position, strap elasticity, hook-and-eye alignment, measurement tolerance, colour and cleanliness. Defective pieces are separated, recorded and either repaired or rejected before packing.

Step 6: Packing

Packing is treated as part of quality control, not as a warehouse task. Each piece is folded, checked against the order specification and packed in the required polybag or box. Private-label orders are checked against the approved label, hang tag and packaging artwork.

Cartons are weighed and labeled by style, size and quantity. The packing list is checked against the actual contents before the carton is sealed.

Step 7: Warehouse And Container Loading

Stock styles are stored in our warehouse so wholesale buyers can order small quantities without waiting for production. Finished bulk orders are moved to dispatch, where cartons are loaded and photographed before shipment. Loading photos are sent to the buyer, which makes it easy to confirm that the right cartons left the factory.

Capacity, Lead Times And What They Mean For You

Production capacity is not just a number for a brochure. It determines whether a supplier can absorb a repeat order, a colour change or a last-minute quantity increase without delaying everyone else.

  • Monthly capacity: around 100,000 pieces
  • Custom sample: 7 to 10 days
  • Bulk production: 15 to 30 days after sample approval
  • Stock styles: available from 3 pieces
  • Custom OEM and ODM: 100 to 300 pieces per style

If a supplier cannot explain how their capacity is allocated across customers, ask what happens when two orders are due in the same week. The answer usually reveals whether the factory is real.
